Whether this is your first Code Championship event or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience is necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). Activities will include parent education, games, hands-on activities, parent discussion, and parent sharing. A Parent & Family Educator guides the discussion while children enjoy childcare or you can enroll your older children in Practice Preschool. Delano Tiger Cub Youth Basketball - Winter ClinicBasketballAges 3–4Introduce your little one to the game of basketball in a fun and positive environment! The Tiger Cub Youth Basketball Winter Clinics focus on developing early skills in dribbling, passing, and shooting while keeping the emphasis on fun and movement. Participants will enjoy learning basic ball-handling skills, playing age-appropriate games, and gaining confidence on the court. Ages 5–6The Winter Clinic for 5- and 6-year-olds will introduce skill progression while maintaining a focus on FUN! We will concentrate on developing skills in dribbling, passing, and shooting. Clinic participants will work on dribbling, shooting, and passing in the first half of the session and scrimmage in the second half. These clinics are designed for all experience levels and provide an excellent opportunity for our youngest athletes to build coordination and teamwork in a supportive setting. Parent Volunteers Needed: We’re looking for enthusiastic parent volunteers to help coach during the clinics. We’ll accept one volunteer for every ten participants in each group. Selected volunteers will receive a refund of their child’s registration fee as a thank-you for their help. Volunteers must be registered with the school district. Early Childhood ScreeningAbout Early Childhood Screening Screening is held at the Delano Community Education Center, and is a check of how your child is growing and developing based on their developmental age. Getting your child screened between the ages of 3 and 4 helps show you areas of strength and any areas of concern in your child's development. This will help your child be prepared for success in Kindergarten. At your child's screening we will check your child's: vision hearing height and weight immunization status large and small muscles cognitive skills language skills social and emotional development An Early Childhood Screening is needed for any child starting kindergarten in any Minnesota public school. If your child has been screened by another school district, Early Childhood Special Education, or Head Start, they do not need to be screened again. You can also elect to be a conscientious objector if you would not like your child to be screened.
