> boys & girls, ages 11+ This American Safety & Health Institute training program is designed to engage and inform the aspiring babysitter. It gives 11 - 14-year-old boys and girls everything they need to know, from getting started to dealing with parents and children to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. Course highlights include: Fundamental information about babysitting & creating your business. Leadership: You’re in charge, but not the parent. Basic Caregiving Skills: Feeding, diapering, holding, safe sleep practices Play Time: Keeping children entertained and active. Safety and Injury Prevention: Phone safety, SIDs awareness, environmental, weather, and preventable hazards. First Aid/CPR: Recognizing an emergency, caring for an ill or injured victim, wounds & burn care, choking & CPR. Students should bring a pen, notebook, and a beverage to class. For ages 7-13. Does your child want to stay home alone after school? Get your children trained with Safe Kids 101, and both of you will feel more confident about their safety at home and in the community. This program is a fun way to learn essential safety principles for emergencies your children could come across while home alone. Course highlights include: answering the door or telephone basic first aid: burns, wounds, poisoning, and choking emergencies storm and fire emergencies dog emergencies stranger danger fun, safe activities to do while home alone creative, fun, healthy, and safe snacks that they can make without a stove or oven! (Please indicate any food allergies when registering.) Please note that some information covered in this class may not be appropriate for younger children, depending on where they are developmentally.
