3D Printing: Nintendo-Themed CharactersScience & Technology> entering grades 3-7 Bring your favorite video game worlds to life by creating Nintendo-inspired characters with TinkerCAD while learning essential 3D design skills. Students will model unique creations in three dimensions, experiment with shapes and structures, and transform their digital ideas into real objects using 3D printers. While prints are finishing, campers can join Nintendo-themed challenges and even design their own video games inspired by the characters they love. Each student will have two small printed projects sent home. Printing and material fees are included. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Babysitting TrainingChild Safety & Responsibility Courses> boys & girls, ages 11 - 18 Girls and boys ages 11+ will learn the skills and information necessary for caring for infants and children in this American Health & Safety Institute-accredited program. The Babysitting Training program will teach participants how to be responsible, prepare for emergencies, take care of an infant/child, respond to an unconscious victim, CPR, choking management, and basic first aid. Children's Yoga with Emily LindgrenYouth Enrichment> Ages 3-8 Children's yoga will improve little yogis' balance, core strength, growth of the brain, calmness and happiness. Children's yoga will also strengthen their body through basic and more challenging poses. They will learn mindfulness, breathing exercises, relaxation, and visualization techniques. There will be days when essential oils are a part of class. Bring a water bottle and your own yoga mat. Drivers Education: 30-hour Classroom InstructionDrivers EducationThirty hours of classroom instruction are required before a student is eligible for behind-the-wheel instruction. Students should be 14 years old in order to take classroom instruction. After completion of the classroom instruction, students may register with Westonka Driving School or another school of their choice for behind the wheel instruction. There is an additional cost for behind the wheel. When students register for behind the wheel, they will receive a blue card, which will enable them to go and take the written permit test at state exam stations. Students will take their engineering skills to the next level by constructing remote-controlled robots inspired by the popular Discovery Channel show BattleBots. Using LEGO® Robotics systems and specialized Technic™ engineering components, they’ll build extreme machines designed for competition. Working in small teams of two to three, students will test, re-engineer, and morph their robots to become better, stronger, and faster before entering them into a high-energy tournament on the final day. . Enjoy animal care, harvesting and cooking with garden produce, making crafts, and assisting with farm projects. Each group of students is led by a Gale Woods Farm Educator and chaperoned by a Community Education staff member. Please bring a bag lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray each day. Intermediate Pottery Wheel CampArts⭐Grades 6th & Up This Intermediate Camp is for previous campers who have taken the Pottery Wheel class in summers past. We will build on the basic skills of centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing as well as explore more advanced methods and techniques. During this seven-day camp, returning potters will improve their throwing skills. Your best creations will be kept and fired in the kiln. Once fired, pieces will be glazed, making them food-safe. As you know, we are sure to make a mess. Please come dressed appropriately and bring a full-sized towel that can get dirty. Math By Mail UpgradedGeneral EnrichmentMath By Mail Upgraded > Students entering grades 5-9 (2025-2026 school year) Math-by-Mail is expanding its options to do math! How exciting! We continue to serve upper elementary through 9th grade. Not only are we offering our predetermined set of 8 packets, we will also offer an ala carte menu! Our added approach allows for individual choice regarding the skills and concepts students and parents can request to build math confidence. Still an 8 week course with a self paced approach! Student completed packets should be mailed (USPS) to Math-by-Mail. We will then provide feedback and return corrected packets to students via USPS. As always the goal of Math-by-Mail is to provide rich content to maintain mathematical understanding!
