On Tuesdays, athletes will be in groups for sprinting, hurdling, distance running, or throwing. Thursday sessions will be distance running only. No experience is necessary. 7th and 8th Grade FootballMiddle School SportsThe 7th & 8th Grade Football equipment handout will be held on Sunday, August 23. Parents are not required to attend equipment handout with their athlete. Due to space limitations, we ask that parents either wait in their vehicle or in the commons while their athlete gets their equipment. Players whose last name starts with: A-L: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. M-Z: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Players who miss the equipment handout on Sunday can get their equipment after practice on Monday, August 24. However, they should still attend the entire practice session. Bus transportation will be provided for away games. Volunteer Coaches are needed! 7th and 8th Grade Girls TennisMiddle School Sports7th & 8th- Grade Tennis Starts on Monday, August 17th, and will go through Thursday, October 1. Fall 2026 Girls Tennis Season: Delano Community Education has an opportunity for 6th-Grade Girls who want to play competitive tennis to join the 7th- and 8th-Grade Girls' Tennis Team! Eight registration spots are available to interested 6th-Grade Girls looking to take the next step in developing their tennis skills. If registration fills, please add to the waiting list. We could add more spots depending on registration numbers. We look forward to seeing you on the tennis courts! Uniforms: The tennis program will provide a team shirt for each player. 7th and 8th Grade VolleyballMiddle School Sports7th & 8th Grade Volleyball will start on August 31 - October 13. Please meet in the Tiger Activity Center (TAC). Bus transportation will be provided for away games. Jerseys - Players must provide their own uniform (Jersey & Shorts). Coordination of what is to be worn will be covered in a team meeting when practices start. If you do not have a JO Volleyball jersey from the 2025 season, you will need to purchase one. Gymnasts at this level can attend 2 - 3 times per week if scheduling allows. Masters: At the Master’s level, we will advance your gymnastics skills even further. Babysitting TrainingChild Safety & Responsibility Courses> boys & girls, ages 11 - 18 Girls and boys ages 11+ will learn the skills and information necessary for caring for infants and children in this American Health & Safety Institute-accredited program. The Babysitting Training program will teach participants how to be responsible, prepare for emergencies, take care of an infant/child, respond to an unconscious victim, CPR, choking management, and basic first aid. Delano Competition Cheer TeamCheerGrades 7-12 Information Meeting: May 7th, 5:30 pm, at the Delano High School in the Tiger Den. Competition Cheer is a competitive twist on the classic sport of cheerleading. Athletes will learn a combination of skills and work together to build a two-and-a-half-minute routine. Participants will put in the work to perfect the routine and develop skills during practice. They will perform their routine at a variety of local competitions in Minnesota. No experience is required. Uniforms and props will be provided. Athletes will need to buy shoes, spandex, and a bow. Participants will be taught all stunts, jumps, cheer, and dance skills needed to become successful competitive cheerleaders. We expect to compete in four to five-weekend competitions from October through January. The Competition Cheer Team is open to boys and girls in grades 7-12. Athletes do not need to attend Delano Schools, but must be willing to commute to practice and represent Delano at competitions. Listed practice times and locations are subject to change.
