Calling all superheroes-in-training! Hero Academy combines fun superhero adventures with essential social-emotional learning. Students will strengthen skills such as emotional awareness, self-regulation, empathy, communication, and problem solving through engaging games and collaborative activities. Each session introduces a new "superpower" that helps children build confidence, friendships, and success both in and out of the classroom. Grades 7–12 Join Delano’s award-winning Orange Crush Robotics Team and take part in one of the fastest-growing extracurricular activities in Minnesota! Students in grades 7–12 are invited to join a dynamic team that combines creativity, collaboration, and technology. Whether you’re interested in engineering, building, programming, graphic design, or social media, there’s a place for you on the team. The team meets weekly through the fall, participates in off-season competitions and educational conferences, and prepares for the release of the next challenge. The Competition Season kicks off in January, when the new game is revealed to teams across the country. From that point, members work together to design, build, and program a new robot for the season’s challenges. The competitive season runs January through April, with opportunities to travel and compete at regional events. Team members should be prepared for a more serious time commitment during this exciting, fast-paced part of the year. Child only (must be fully potty trained). Practice Preschool is a place where young children begin their learning journey in a brief, inviting preschool environment. Children will grow in their social and emotional skills by practicing turn-taking, standing in line, sitting in circle time, and enjoying free play with new friends. In this class, preschoolers begin to understand what it means to be part of a group - listening, sharing, and cooperating with others. Each class is filled with activities that support early development including art, science, math and literacy. Of course, there’s time for snacks and music along the way!
