Diving : Intro to DivingDivingBasic springboard diving skills are introduced, including front takeoffs, back takeoffs, and basic head-first entries. Skills from the side - twisting and flipping. Diving safety skills are discussed. During Intro to Diving, participants will learn the front and back takeoffs and work to routinely be able to perform three different categories of dives. Diving: Intermediate DivingDivingParticipants in Intermediate Diving will work towards achieving a ‘9 dive list’. This will consist of 2 dives from the front, back, inward, and twisting categories of dives. One of the previously mentioned 4 categories, participants will demonstrate a 3rd dive from. The final category, reverses, will be introduced in Rip School, the competitive level program offered through Delano Community Education. NOTE: Students must have passed Level 3 swimming lessons. Additionally, participants must be able to perform the front approach and back press while being able to perform a minimum of 3 different categories of dives. Divers interested in diving for their high school team for the first time should contact Nate Brisley directly. High School Prep Classes will be arranged for those who reach out and express interest. Diving: Open BoardDivingOpen to students interested in Diving Curious about diving but not sure where to start? Open Boards is the perfect opportunity for new divers to get in the water, try the boards, and discover the right level for future lessons. This flexible, less-structured program allows participants to explore basic diving skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. A coach will be present during each session to provide guidance, offer instruction, and help participants build confidence on the diving board. Whether your child is brand new to diving or simply wants help determining the appropriate class placement, Open Boards is a great first step into the sport. NOTE: Students must have passed Level 3 swimming lessons. Diving: Rip School (high school & club level diving)DivingRip School is for participants who already have competitive diving experience or are going into their first year of competitive diving. Rip School will help divers refine their current skills and learn new skills and dives. 6 and 11 dive list setup, tips, and some best practices. The spotting belt may be used if time and space allow. Assessments will be a quick and free way to give you immediate feedback and level placement recommendations based on current skills. Students who complete an assessment will have first access at registering for our first mini-camp, of which we are anticipating running several over the summer. These camps will be offered at reduced rates for two purposes - to get students in the water and develop their swimming skills while also giving new swim instructors hands-on training. You will tone up and lose weight faster with a pool exercise program than you will with regular exercise because water acts as a resistor to muscle action. Our upbeat routines will include water jogging, water cycling, along with toning and stretching exercises for the arms, legs, and stomach while improving overall core strength. Water aerobics offers the aerobic benefit of cardiovascular fitness with low impact on your body because it is done in the water.
