This course is required for students new to the archery club. Open to students in grades 7–12, the Introduction to Archery class introduces the fundamentals of archery in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Participants will learn essential safety rules, equipment basics, proper form, and aiming techniques. Led by experienced instructors, students will develop strength, focus, and coordination through hands-on practice. All necessary equipment will be provided. This class also offers a pathway into the Delano Archery Program, where students can continue to refine their skills, participate in friendly competitions, and be part of a supportive team. Grades 7-12 The Delano Archery Program, established in 2023, brings together students in grades 7–12 who share a passion for archery. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience, our program offers opportunities to learn, grow, and compete in a supportive team environment. All equipment is provided, and the fees cover the jersey and tournament costs. We ask that previous archers use their jerseys from last season. New archers will be provided with a jersey. Our season runs from December through March, with practices held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Athletes will participate in local and state tournaments on weekends, and students in grades 9–12 can earn a varsity letter by meeting the lettering criteria. We invite you to join our community—whether by becoming a team member, donating to support our efforts, or cheering us on at tournaments. Together, we are building skill, confidence, and camaraderie through the sport of archery. To give more attention to each archer with less downtime between having a bow in their hands, students will sign up for one of three practice time slots. All archers are expected to help set up and tear down the range. Please select the time slot that will work best for your archer when registering (your selection does not guarantee you will receive that time slot). Available practice time slots: 6:00 - 7:00 pm 7:00 - 7:45 pm 7:45 - 8:45 pm Parent/Archer Information Meeting: A parent/archer information meeting will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 8:00 pm, after the intro course in the TKC Gym. Parents, please plan to attend on this day with your Archer to learn more about the upcoming season. Thank you!
