Nature Class at Central Park
Ages 3.5 - 6 years old (up to age 7)
The natural world is a giant, open-ended learning laboratory. Children are innate scientists and nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, creativity, problem-solving, and STEM education. Each week your child will study some aspects of the wonderful world of nature and the great outdoors.
Classes are held at Delano Central Park, so come dressed for the weather! “There’s no bad weather, just bad clothing!” If it is only a light rain and drizzling, class will still take place outdoors and you will need to make sure your child is dressed in appropriate rain gear (raincoats, boots, hat) for the day. If inclement weather conditions prevent being outdoors, class will be held inside at the Community Education building.
Because your child will be attending an outdoor classroom, there will be additional requirements in order to make the learning experience successful and positive for all students.
- Children will be required to wear only tennis shoes or boots (NO OPEN-TOED SHOES OR CLOGS OR SANDALS).
- Children must be completely toilet trained.
- Pack your child a backpack with extra clothes, a full water bottle, and a snack.
- Apply sunscreen and insect repellant (if desired) to your child before class time.
